Charm City Run is Running the New York City Marathon as a Team: Deanthony’s Perspective
Wednesday, August 24, 2022
Thanks to New Balance, a group of Charm City Run team members will be training and running the New York City Marathon together on November 6, 2022. Leading up to the race, each member will share a blog post describing why they are running, how training is going, and what it means to run a marathon as a Charm City Run team. Deanthony White, Charm City Run Director, CCR Mobile and Strategic Brand Partnerships, shares his perspective on preparing for the New York City Marathon.
I am running this race for my wife Erin, daughter Dreux and the rest of my family. They’re a huge part of my “WHY” in anything I do, when I set my intentions on something inspiring. Knowing that my daughter will be paying attention to MY ACTIONS for the rest of her life as she grows into a young lady, I want her to know that her father didn’t always have a Dad Bod and wants her to continuously challenge herself mentally, physically and spiritually and to also know that the journey is the destination. #TheMarathonContinues
Training has been a roller coaster to say the least. I am running coupled with strength training five and sometimes six days out of the week. There are days that I don’t feel like running and those runs end up being some of my best. It’s honestly fun to take on a challenge such as the New York Marathon and push through the aches and pains that turn into strengths as I grow and become a better runner throughout this process. The process is going well and I have to continue to trust it.
I am excited about the challenge. I continuously visualize myself crossing the finish line and seeing my support system there to greet me with pure love.
Being able to run this race with my CCR team members that live and breathe the business & culture of running is huge. It’s one thing to work with your team, but to run a marathon with them takes on a whole new meaning of what TEAM actually means.
I would like to thank New Balance for the opportunity and experience of a lifetime. Lets get it!
