Ultimately you'll find that choosing the right shoe for you has more to do with your running form and physical characteristics, than just buying the latest and greatest product with all the high-tech bells and whistles. But fear not, you can simplify your buying experience into an easy to follow three step process:
From Sunday, Aug. 14 to Saturday, Aug. 20, the great state of Maryland provides a week of tax-free shopping on qualifying apparel and footwear items $100 or less (Check out the complete list here). In addition, Charm City Run and VITA are covering the tax on apparel and footwear priced more than $100 and ALL accessories, which are not included in the tax-free week.
Our buddy Brandon from The Gearist tried and reviewed the new Saucony Kinvara 7. Watch to video below to learn about the new model and see what he thinks!

We spend a lot of time talking about the right footwear to wear while running (and rightfully so!), but what about the other hours in the day? Finding attractive, supportive shoes can be difficult, especially in the summer. That's why we were pretty excited when we heard Superfeet was coming out with their new Outside sandals this year and think you will be, too.
As a general rule, I have been told 300-500 miles should be the life expectancy of a pair of running shoes. I had just passed 300 miles in my Brooks Ghost, so I stopped by Charm City Run. My buddy Tom hooked me up with a pair of the new Under Armour Speedform Gemini 2 Record - a shoe that tracks distance (and more), untethered - and asked me to try them out.
Under Armour's latest move in wearable technology is finally here. With a retail price of $149.99, this shoe comes equipped with the ability to track it's own mileage and download the stats to Map My Run - without being tethered to another device!
Our good friend Dr. Blake Kalkstein, DC, MS, CCSP, ART, TPI, FMS, SFMA Board Certified Sports Chiropractic Physician with Adolph & Kalkstein Chiropractic, Team Chiropractors for the Baltimore Orioles, recently started "From The Ground Up" a weekly video blog focused on running. We were thrilled when he asked us to come talk about the importance of finding the right shoe and our fitting process. Check out the video below, then head over to their You Tube Channel to see other informational videos!

The Saucony Redemmer is now available here at Charm City Run. While flexibility and runnability remain as headlining Saucony attributes, the Redeemer adds outstanding stability and ride support to this sneaker’s features. Plush cushioning provides the underfoot with compressing materials between the foot and the running surface to deliver more impact protection through the use of PWRGRID+. This adds 20% more cushioning as well as fluid transition maintenance from the heel to toe for a smooth ride. The Redeemer provides those looking for a shoe tailored for support and stability with a greater level of motion control as it is designed with an 8mm. offset for those with severe pronation. The sneaker also features Injection Blown Rubber, which is liquid molded rubber allowing for higher consistency and durability. Add an ISOFIT upper for a sock-like fit and the Saucony Redeemer is a great combination of comfort and support for both road and track surfaces.
