Welcome back to Sole Stats Dash! Today, we’re diving into the newest version of a shoe that has rapidly become an industry staple: the ASICS Superblast 3.

Since the original Superblast dropped in 2022, this line has remained one of the most versatile shoes on the market. From recovery jogs to race day, it can handle just about anything you throw at it. With version 3, ASICS has pulled off the ultimate engineering feat: packing in more cushion than version 2 while making the shoe even lighter.

The Tale of the Tape

  • Weight: 8.4 oz (Men’s/Unisex) | 7.0 oz (Women’s/Unisex)
  • Stack Height: 46.5mm (Heel) / 38.5mm (Forefoot)
  • Drop: 8mm
  • Price: $210

Lightweight Upper, Elite Lockdown

ASICS is utilizing a new engineered woven upper that is incredibly lightweight and breathable. It fits the foot beautifully, providing solid lockdown in the heel and midfoot while still allowing the forefoot enough open space for a natural feel.

One of the biggest functional changes is the winged gusseted tongue. It’s stitched in on both sides to prevent sliding, but the upper portion remains wide so it lays perfectly flush against the top of your foot for a premium, comfortable fit.

The Foam Revolution

The magic of the Superblast 3 lies in the midsole. ASICS combined their reliable FlyteFoam Blast+ with their brand-new FlyteFoam Leap. This is their lightest and bounciest foam yet—the same tech found in elite racing shoes like the Metaspeed Sky and Metaspeed Edge.

Despite increasing the stack height to a massive 46.5mm in the heel, the shoe actually feels more nimble. On foot, you’ll notice soft landings paired with massive energy return to power your stride.

Stability & Grip

Don’t let the height fool you; the base remains very wide. This creates a stable platform that gives you a confident, “centered” feel with every step. The outsole remains very similar to version 2, so you can continue to expect a reliable ride and excellent traction, even on wet surfaces.

The Verdict: If you want a “do-it-all” super trainer that brings race-day energy to your daily miles, the Superblast 3 is the one. even on wet surfaces thanks to the reliable outsole carried over from version 2.
