My Charm City Run Internship Experience by Amelia Thomas

Wednesday, June 2, 2021

Never did I imagine myself getting an internship at a running store, but I always say things happen for a reason. I can honestly say now that I’m so glad I contacted them. This entire experience has given me so much knowledge and I don’t think I could have learned so much anywhere else. Unfortunately, with the circumstances, some of the opportunities were modified. Being the first intern that Charm City Run has even had, I thought it went pretty well!  I learned how the business works, marketing tactics, and many other things. Knowledge that I know will help me in the future.

The entire Charm City Run community is something that I’ve never seen before in a workplace. Everyone always has a smile on their face, even if the store is getting slammed. Everyone is willing to pitch in and genuinely cares about each other. As an intern getting to know the owner personally is something you may not see in big companies. There is something so positive about the feeling of small business.

Throughout this entire year, I have been able to meet some incredible people. The staff at the store, the wonderful customers, and the spectacular events team. I can not thank you all enough for your knowledge, support and guidance for my future. I would like to give a special shoutout to Lizzy for taking this intern trip with me. Although we weren’t able to finish it all the way through, the store is in good hands with Lauren. Finally, thank you Tom and Dawn for this opportunity.  I can only hope you will consider sharing this opportunity with someone else.

Don’t worry friends, I loved it so much that I am going to actually be employed at the store for the summer. So come and get those shoes fitting before I’m off to Providence College.
