Meghan Fugate

Coach: Meghan Fugate

Meghan has been coaching running since the Fall of 2000 when she started the Middle School Cross Country Team at Notre Dame Preparatory School in Towson. Since then she helped start the Middle School Cross Country Team at Garrison Forest School and coached their Varsity Team for five years. Beginning in 2007, Meghan has been coaching Varsity Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field at Mercy High School and for the past three years, Varsity Cross Country. Meghan began running in Middle School and completed her first marathon at the age of 19. She has completed countless 5k’s, 10k’s, 10 milers, and half marathons. She has completed more than 15 marathons including the New York City Marathon and the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC. Meghan is now participating in triathlons to help with cross-training. In 2011, Meghan began coaching at Charm City Run Clarksville where she works with a variety of runners ranging from beginner 5kers through marathoners looking to set new PRs!

We also always offer virtual training options for full marathon training. We can individualize your marathon training plan or sign up for individualized monthly virtual training with access to an expert coach.

Do you have a goal of running 26.2 next spring? Our marathon training program will prepare you to race your best – whether it’s your first or 50th marathon.

Along the way you’ll learn about increasing your mileage, tempo runs, track workouts, hill workouts, recovery runs, nutrition, hydration, injury prevention, and much more.

Each group will meet twice a week and receive weekly training plans via Final Surge from an expert coach and learn about long runs, tempo runs, track workouts, easy runs, recovery runs, hydration, injury prevention, and much more. Get ready to train for your target marathon!

Our winter marathon groups start on December 2nd* and will target the Shamrock Marathon in Virginia Beach on March 17th, 2024 or any other spring marathon in the same time frame. Training plans can be adapted to your target race.

Our winter marathon group in Rehoboth will  start on December 9th* and will target the Coastal Delaware Running Festival, April 12th – 14th 2024 or any other spring marathon in the same time frame. Training plans can be adapted to your target race.

Requirements

To safely meet your goal we do ask that you have a base level of running under your belt before joining this group. What does that mean? We ask that you are able to run/walk 8 miles at one time at the start of the program and are currently running at least 15 miles per week. This does not mean you need to be able to run the entire way but just that you are comfortable covering that distance. Are you not sure if you meet these requirements? Don’t worry ask the coach for your location! You will be surprised that most people meet these requirements and are able to join the group.
