Kevin Ruppel

Coach: Kevin Ruppel

Kevin started running when he was a teen in high school. A couple of years after getting out of college he took a 20 plus year hiatus from running. In his late 40’s he decided to give running another shot. Not too long after that, with the help of some amazing coaches, he found myself doing something he never envisioned, crossing the finish line of his first full marathon. The feeling he had crossing that finish line, he knew he had to give back to other runners. Ever since he has been pacing and coaching runners to help them reach their goals, from finishing their first 5K to crossing the finish line at 26.2 miles and beyond. Kevin is a RRCA Certified Coach with over seven years of coaching experience.

Hannah Flinchum

Coach: Hannah Flinchum

Hannah found a passion for long distance running when she was 16. What got her through some of the hardest times, is now what she does to celebrate every day. She met her closest friends through the sport and believes the running community is the best community to be a part of. While she loves a shiny new marathon PR, Hannah equally loves celebrating everyone’s running accomplishments and wants to help anyone reach new milestones. Since 2019, Hannah has trained many of her friends for races from the 5k up to the full marathon, whether it’s their first race or a race they want to PR in. She knows she has big running shoes to fill as the full and half marathon coach in Gburg, but she is honored and excited for this next adventure. Hannah has also been working at the Gaithersburg location since it opened and is a Physical Therapy student in DC.

Requirements

To safely meet your goal we do ask that you have a base level of running under your belt before joining this group. What does that mean? We ask that at the beginning of the program you are able to run/walk 3-4 miles at one time and are currently running 10-15 miles per week. This does not mean you need to be able to run the entire way but just that you are comfortable covering that distance. Are you not sure if you meet these requirements? Don’t worry ask the coach for you location. You will be surprised that most people meet these requirements and are able to join the group.

What To Expect

  • Supported group runs and workouts twice a week with planned routes, hydration and companionship
  • Positive and welcoming atmosphere for runners and walkers of all levels

  • Weekly training plans – beginner and intermediate options
