I am a mother of four boys (ages 4 and under)!! And while it is exhausting in itself, it’s also the most rewarding job there is, they are my pride and joy. Finding time to run with them is challenging, but so important for my mental health and gives me time for ME (even if I end up running with my kids part of the time)!

I’ve been running for ten years now. It started as a stress reliever from my job at the time, but it has turned into a passion for me. I remember telling all my then running friends that I would never run for fun. I also had a half marathon on my bucket list, I know contradicting, but I had never taken the steps to actually run one. During the Covid pandemic, I became a stay at home mom and needed something to do outside of the house, so I joined a running group. From there I ran my first half marathon and countless other 10k’s and 5k’s. Watching running friends, train and crush their goals is inspiring and motivating for me! I started assistant coaching for that group and realized I wanted to pursue the running world deeper.

Im currently training for my first marathon and taking the steps to be RRCA certified! I was always told if you find a job you love, you’ll never work a day in your life: this is coaching for me!

I look forward to coaching and training anyone who is up for the challenge! A good solo run is great, but running with friends is even better! Whatever your goal is, I am here to help! Nothing is better than accountability, motivation, and friendship!!

Description

Are you planning to run our St. Michaels Half Marathon? Or another half marathon around the same time? This training program is open to everyone from the runner attempting their first endurance event to the repeat competitive runner. Training can be individualized to your experience and goals. The program will prepare to race your best – whether you’re new to long distance running or a seasoned half marathoner.

The group will meet twice a week from February through May, once a week for speed workouts and once a week for long runs. Your expert coach will also provide you with a weekly training plan that will guide your preparation for your target half marathon. Along the way you’ll learn about about increasing your mileage, tempo runs, track workouts, hill workouts, recovery runs, nutrition, hydration, injury prevention, and much more.

Our spring half marathon groups start February 24th  and will target the St. Michaels Running Festival Half Marathon on May 18th, 2024 or any other late spring half marathon in the same time frame. Training plans can be adapted to your target race.

*Starting dates may vary by store location

Requirements

To safely meet your goal we do ask that you have a base level of running under your belt before joining this group. What does that mean? We ask that at the beginning of the program you are able to run/walk 3-4 miles at one time and are currently running 10-15 miles per week. This does not mean you need to be able to run the entire way but just that you are comfortable covering that distance. Are you not sure if you meet these requirements? Don’t worry ask the coach for you location. You will be surprised that most people meet these requirements and are able to join the group.

What To Expect

  • Supported group runs and workouts twice a week with planned routes, hydration and companionship
  • Positive and welcoming atmosphere for runners and walkers of all levels

  • Weekly training plans – beginner and intermediate options

  • Access to expert coaching services and advice

  • Gait analysis with footwear recommendations

  • 10% store discount at Charm City Run

  • 15% off Charm City Run signature races
  • Nutrition, gear and injury prevention education

  • Altra training premiums
