I was never really an "athlete". I dabbled in softball and volleyball in high school, played on a work softball team in my 20s and went to the gym regularly. That was about it. When I was in my 30s, a friend ran the Disney marathon. I thought "I can do that". In the spring of 2010 I joined a couch-to-5K program, and I finished my first half marathon that October. Since then, I've done 5Ks, 10Ks, 10 milers, countless half marathons and 2 marathons (and I'm not done yet)!

I coached Girls on the Run when my daughter was in 5th grade and I was the track and field coach at Rockville High School for 3 years. I love sharing my love of running with others, even those who say they hate running. The camaraderie of the running world is contagious- runners are just generally cool people. I love being part of the CCR family and working at the store in Columbia. As a teacher, I'm a people person by nature and love to see people reach their goals. I'll be right there, cheering you on, every step of the way!

We also offer virtual training options for our training programs.. You can either purchase a training plan or sign up for monthly virtual training with access to an expert coach.

Our 8-week 5 Miler training program is designed for beginner and intermediate-level runners who want to improve speed and endurance. Regardless of if you plan to race at the end of the program, this training group will help you develop a consistent running routine.

This special group program is offered exclusively at Charm City Run Columbia. You will meet twice a week for supported group runs with your fellow runners and coach – once for a speed workout and once for a distance run in addition to following a weekly training plan. Your expert coach will provide plenty of advice and running education along the way including tips & tricks for hydration, nutrition and injury prevention.

This group starts August 26th and targets the Charm City Run Oktoberfest 5 Miler sponsored by Altra on Sunday, October 27th or any other similar race in the same time frame. You are also welcome to join the group even if you aren’t planning to race at the end.

Requirements

No running experience necessary! Runners, walkers and run/walkers of all levels welcome!
