I was never really an "athlete". I dabbled in softball and volleyball in high school, played on a work softball team in my 20s and went to the gym regularly. That was about it. When I was in my 30s, a friend ran the Disney marathon. I thought "I can do that". In the spring of 2010 I joined a couch-to-5K program, and I finished my first half marathon that October. Since then, I've done 5Ks, 10Ks, 10 milers, countless half marathons and 2 marathons (and I'm not done yet)!
I coached Girls on the Run when my daughter was in 5th grade and I was the track and field coach at Rockville High School for 3 years. I love sharing my love of running with others, even those who say they hate running. The camaraderie of the running world is contagious- runners are just generally cool people. I love being part of the CCR family and working at the store in Columbia. As a teacher, I'm a people person by nature and love to see people reach their goals. I'll be right there, cheering you on, every step of the way!

Description
Join a 5K group this summer and get ready to run your best summer racing! Whether you are a walker looking to take your first running steps or an experienced 5Ker looking to improve your speed, there is a place in our training group for you! You are welcome to target a local or virtual 5K as your end goal but whether or not you race at the end, this group will help you establish a consistent running routine for six weeks!
You will meet twice a week for supported group runs with your fellow runners and coach — once for a speed workout and once for a distance run in addition to following a weekly training plan. Weekly emails will outline your training plans for the days you don’t meet and allow you to follow along on your own for a virtual experience if you wish.
