In 2009, when Charm City Run was coming to Annapolis, Kelly met Tom Mansfield. The excitement he had when he talked about the store and all they were going to do in the area was contagious. Kelly knew she wanted to be a part of it.
Over the next few years, Kelly and Charm City Run crossed paths not only on the roads and trails but in other business partnerships. Finally, in 2014, Kelly joined the Annapolis team as the coach for the marathon/half marathon training groups with the goal of growing the program. Kelly began working in the store and coaching more and more runners until she joined the team full-time as the Director of Training Programs.
Kelly believes that Charm City Run is the definition of inspire. It is who we are, what we do, and how we interact with others. We are making a difference every day and she is proud to be part of the family.
When Kelly is not coaching, you will find her running countless miles or spending time with her husband Eric, and daughter Amelia.

Do you have a goal of running 26.2 this fall? Our marathon training program will prepare you to race your best – whether it’s your first or 50th marathon. Along the way you’ll learn about increasing your mileage, tempo runs, track workouts, hill workouts, recovery runs, nutrition, hydration, injury prevention, and much more.
Each group will meet twice a week and receive weekly training plans via Final Surge from an expert coach and learn about long runs, tempo runs, track workouts, easy runs, recovery runs, hydration, injury prevention, and much more. Get ready to train for your target marathon!
Fall Training will start on June 15th, 2024 through October 19th, 2024 and target a marathon within that time frame. Your coach will adjust your training plan if your goal race is within a few weeks of October 19th.
*Fells Point will target the Baltimore Running Festival
*Rehoboth Marathon location will start in August
Requirements
To safely meet your goal we do ask that you have a base level of running under your belt before joining this group. What does that mean? We ask that you are able to run/walk 8 miles at one time at the start of the program and are currently running at least 15 miles per week. This does not mean you need to be able to run the entire way but just that you are comfortable covering that distance. Are you not sure if you meet these requirements? Don’t worry ask the coach for your location! You will be surprised that most people meet these requirements and are able to join the group.
