Sandy Lamparello

Coach: Sandy Lamparello

Sandy did not grow up running, at least not any longer than required to run the bases while playing softball. She started running in her mid-30s with a coworker to give them a break from the office during lunch breaks. About a year after starting to run, Sandy ran her first half marathon and quickly signed up for her first marathon. The coaches and pacers who got her through that race 14 years ago inspired her to help new runners, and she became a pacer and eventually earned her RRCA coaching certification.

Sandy has completed races from 1 mile up to 26.2 miles and has also completed several multi-day ultra challenges. She loves road running but is also an avid trail runner. RAGNAR events are one of her favorite ways to spend a weekend.

If you are ready to run your first 5K or return to running after a break, Sandy is here to help you accomplish your goal. She cherishes every one of her race finishes, but finds even more joy from watching others reach their finish line.

Description

We are proud to be partnering with the Arthritis Foundation to support their Jingle Bell Run charity 5K! We will be donating a portion of each training sign up directly to the foundation.

Whether you are a walker looking to take your first running steps or an experienced 5Ker looking to improve your speed, there is a place in our training group for you! Each group targets a local 5K race but regardless of if you are racing at the end of the program, this group will help you establish a consistent running routine.

This 5-week 5K training program is offered at Charm City Run Gaithersburg. You will meet twice a week for supported group runs with your fellow runners and coach – once for a speed workout and once for a distance run in addition to following a weekly training plan. The small group atmosphere will also allow you to connect with other runners in the area.

Our next 5K group targets the Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run 5k on Saturday, December 7th or another race within that time frame. Regardless of if you want to race – join us to enjoy creating a consistent running routine with a supportive small group!
