Brian Yeager

Coach: Brian Yeager

Brian is a middle school computer science teacher at Patterson Mill Middle High School in Bel Air, MD with a background of 10+ years of coaching football and lacrosse at The Fallston High School.

A former college lacrosse player and current volunteer Firefighter/EMT, Brian joined his local running community (at the age of 43) to meet new friends - and the running bug took its bite! Emboldened by his new running friends, his goal of finishing his first marathon transformed into qualifying for the Boston Marathon. Since then, Brian has completed five of the six Abbott World Marathon Majors (completing the Boston Marathon five times) - with a 2:54:11 PR at the age of 50 (special thanks to Jeff Burger's CCR training group), two Western States® qualifiers, a Half Ironman® and many 50k – 5k races.

Brian is a lifelong learner committed to self-improvement and hopes to share his enthusiasm for training and making personal best efforts with the Charm City Run family!

Description

We are proud to be the Official Training Group  of the 2025 HAT 50K Race!

At Charm City Run our goal is to safely train runners towards reaching their goals of finishing your first ultra, achieving PR and everything in between. The power of the group atmosphere makes the journey fun and enjoyable while encouragement from your coaches makes the long runs much easier.

Each group will meet twice a week for 16 weeks for runs and learn about hydration, trail running, easy runs, recovery runs, hydration, nutrition, injury prevention and much more along the way. Weekday runs will consist of hills and track workouts. Weekend morning runs will be trail runs at local parks, unless weather forces us to stay on the roads.

Our winter ultra group starts on December 7th and will target the HAT 50K, March 22, 2025 or any other spring ultra marathon in the same time frame. Training plans can be adapted to your target race.

Requirements

To safely meet your goal we do ask that you have completed at least one marathon distance and have a strong base level of trail running under your belt. We ask that you are able to run 10 miles at least once before the start for the program. Are you not sure if you meet these requirements? Don’t worry, ask the coach during the info session.

What To Expect

  • SUPPORTED GROUP RUNS AND WORKOUTS TWICE A WEEK WITH PLANNED ROUTES, HYDRATION AND COMPANIONSHIP
  • POSITIVE AND WELCOMING ATMOSPHERE FOR RUNNERS AND WALKERS OF ALL LEVELS
  • WEEKLY TRAINING PLANS – BEGINNER AND INTERMEDIATE OPTIONS
