Coach: Jeff Burger
I started coaching in 2009 because I was immediately drawn to the science of running and would witness several runners making the same “mistakes.” Since 2009, I have coached several hundred runners and have watched numerous people reach their running goals, whatever those goals may be. In 2016, I created and coached a program for Charm City Run that was designed specifically to assist people in their journey to qualify for and run the Boston Marathon. Since 2016, 85% of the participants in this program have qualified for the Boston Marathon. I fell in love with running almost immediately after finishing my first marathon in 2007. Since then, I have completed eleven marathons total, including three Boston Marathons, and all six Abbott Marathon Majors (Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, and New York). I have a personal best of 2:48:30 and have completed countless half marathons and three ultra-marathons (50K). To date, the highlights of my running career are my 2:48:30 in the 2018 Tokyo Marathon, running the Boston Marathon, the first time I broke three hours in the 2013 New York City Marathon, and the fact that I have never DNF’ed in a race.
