Coach: Erin Cecil
Coach: Chad Boyle
Coach Chad Boyle joins the Charm City Run coaching team after completion of a 23-year career at Dulaney High School in Timonium. At Dulaney, Coach Boyle was a 5-time Baltimore Sun Coach of the Year, and a finalist for the USATFCC National Coach of the Year in 2015. In his tenure at Dulaney, teams amassed numerous accolades including three Maryland State Championships in cross country, along with 17 2nd place team finishes over a 23-year period. Boyle mentored numerous athletes to elite performances, including Maryland State record holders, 42 individual State Champions and countless athletes who graduated to compete at the collegiate level. Most importantly, under his guidance, Boyle helped foster an inclusive community that saw upwards of 100 athletes of all levels and abilities involved in the cross country and track and field programs each year. His greatest joy each year was watching athletes of all levels achieve personal bests at the championship races each October.
Boyle is a 1997 graduate of UMBC where he was a three-year letter winner in cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field, where he was team captain in 1996 and 1997. More recently as a master’s runner, he achieved performances of 17:26 (5K), 1:16:24 in the half-marathon (Philadelphia 2018), 2:50:36 in the marathon (Philadelphia 2017) and 2:51:02 in the difficult conditions in Boston in 2018.

Description
Are your running the Half Marathon at the Coastal Running Festival in April?
Or another half marathon around the same time? This half marathon program is open to everyone from the runner attempting their first endurance event to the repeat competitive runner. Training can be individualized to your experience and goals. The program will prepare to race your best – whether you’re new to long distance running or a seasoned half marathoner.
The group will meet twice a week from February to April – once a week for speed workouts and once a week for long runs. Along the way you’ll learn about about increasing your mileage, tempo runs, track workouts, hill workouts, recovery runs, nutrition, hydration, injury prevention, and much more.
This group will target the Coastal Delaware Running Festival on April 14th.
Requirements
To safely meet your goal we do ask that you have a base level of running under your belt before joining this group. What does that mean? We ask that at the beginning of the program you are able to run/walk 3-4 miles at one time and are currently running 10-15 miles per week. This does not mean you need to be able to run the entire way but just that you are comfortable covering that distance. Are you not sure if you meet these requirements? Don’t worry ask the coach for you location. You will be surprised that most people meet these requirements and are able to join the group.
