Chad and Emily Young

Coach: Chad and Emily Young

Chad, an American University XC/TF alum, began his coaching career at Bethesda-Chevy Chase HS in 2005. Emily, a former walk-on at UNC, joined him in 2011. They remained at B-CC until 2021, coaching multiple individual, relay, and team state champions and earning Washington Post All-Met Coach of the Year honors in the process. A growing family and the need for more space necessitated a move from Bethesda to Gaithersburg. Firm believers in being active members of their immediate community, the Young’s moved to Quince Orchard High School where Chad teaches math and they both serve as assistants to head coach Seann Pelkey.

Seann Pelkey

Coach: Seann Pelkey

Coach Seann Pelkey has been to cross country coach at Quince Orchard High School since the fall of 1999 when he started as a volunteer coach. He became head coach in 2001. An alumnus of Quince Orchard, coach Pelkey was a member of the 1993 and 1994 state championship teams. He went on to run for LaSalle University in Philadelphia, where he competed for 4 years. Pelkey has coached 3 cross country state championship teams (2001 girls, 2006 & 2007 boys) and was the Washington Post All-Met coach of the year in 2006. Coach Pelkey teachers Sociology and World History at Quince Orchard and lives in Point of Rocks, Md. with his wife Heather and 3 children.


Virtual Training

We also offer virtual training options for our training programs.. You can either purchase a training plan or sign up for monthly virtual training with access to an expert coach.

Starting the week of June 10th or the week of  17th* through August 2nd, our summer high school training program will get your athlete ready for tryouts in August.

Join a hard working group of student athletes led by experienced coaches. Rising eighth graders – seniors eligible! High school athletes, join our High School XC Summer Camp and get the most out of your summer! Purposeful summer training is the foundation for a great cross-country season. Most importantly, summer training is crucial for your long-term growth and development as a running athlete.

*Middle Schoolers – are welcome to join our camp at Broadneck High School and Hereford Camps
