Jeni Herrera-Mullar

Coach: Jeni Herrera-Mullar

Jeni’s running journey began in middle school when she joined her school’s cross-country team. Although she wasn’t the fastest runner on the team, she found joy in the camaraderie of running with others who shared the same passion. She continued running through high school and into college and graduate school recreationally, participating in everything from 5Ks to marathons.

Things took a drastic turn in 2022 when Jeni was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. Injust a week, she went from being an active person to unable to stand or walk. After a year-long recovery of relearning basic movements, Jeni found herself drawn back to running, this time with a deeper appreciation for the process and a newfound purpose.

Now a semi-competitive Master’s runner, Jeni has completed races from 5Ks to half marathons and is proof that persistence, mindset, and consistency are more important than speed. As a coach, she emphasizes the power of setting realistic goals, embracing challenges, and building a strong foundation—no matter where you’re starting from. Running is for everyone – parents, students, and people of all ages and from busy walks of life.

Living in Parkton, MD with her husband, two boys, and two dogs (her loyal running partners), Jeni is committed to helping others discover the joy and personal growth that running can bring, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced athlete. She believes that running is for everyone and that forward progress—no matter the pace—is what truly matters.

Looking for a training group in Northern Baltimore County?  Or do you plan on running the NCR half marathon or marathon this fall? Our training program will prepare you to race your best on the beautiful NCR trail. Along the way you’ll learn about increasing your mileage, tempo runs, track workouts, hill workouts, recovery runs, nutrition, hydration, injury prevention, and much more. This group will meet 1X per week for 16 weeks and will receive weekly training plans your expert coach.

Requirements

To safely meet your goal we do ask that you have a base level of running under your belt before joining this group. What does that mean? We ask that you are able to run/walk 4 miles at one time at the start of the program and are currently running at least 15 miles per week. This does not mean you need to be able to run the entire way but just that you are comfortable covering that distance.

Additionally it would be helpful if runners have a watch to assist with time-based runs.

What To Expect

  • SUPPORTED GROUP RUNS AND WORKOUTS ONCE A WEEK WITH PLANNED ROUTES AND COMPANIONSHIP
  • POSITIVE AND WELCOMING ATMOSPHERE FOR RUNNERS OF ALL LEVELS
  • WEEKLY TRAINING PLANS – BEGINNER AND INTERMEDIATE OPTIONS
  • ACCESS TO EXPERT COACHING SERVICES AND ADVICE
  • $20 CCR GIFT CARD
  • ALTRA PREMIUM (WHILE SUPPLIES LAST)
  • 10% STORE DISCOUNT AT CHARM CITY RUN
  • 15% OFF CHARM CITY RUN SIGNATURE RACES
