Katherine has been a member of the ultra-trail-running community for almost 25 years, but only recently as a participant. She supported many friends and family as a long-time cheerleader, volunteer, and crew. With a lofty goal to complete a 50K for her 50th birthday, she joined the CCR Timonium Ultra Trail training group for the 2021 HAT Run 50K.

The training group not only provided the plan, support and confidence to complete that 50K, but the camaraderie, friendship and inspiration to embark on a shared challenge. Over the next three years, with CCR training groups, Katherine completed seven 50K’s, a 100K and her first 100-mile trail race.

Katherine views coaching as a way to help new trail runners discover the joys of nature and “conversational pace”, offer a fun and rewarding season to veteran ultra-runners, and support anyone wishing to achieve (otherwise impossible) goals with the right plan, approach and attitude.


Virtual Training

We also offer virtual training options for our training programs.. You can either purchase a training plan or sign up for monthly virtual training with access to an expert coach.

If you are running our Froggy Hollow race, you will not want to miss out on these training groups!  Our trail coaches are excited to prepare you for the mileage you choose and all you need to know about trail running.

This training program at  Charm City Run Frederick  and Timonium will prepare you for either the  4+ Mile (one loop)  or the 5 or 9 hour (multiple loops) trail training for our Froggy Hollow race on Saturday, February 8th, 2025.

You will meet twice a week for coach led supported group runs with your fellow runners and coach – once for you speed workout and then your long run on the local trails,   in addition to following a weekly training plan, you will receive weekly emails with  motivation, access to an expert coach, running education on topics including hydration and injury prevention, and more.

Requirements

Participants must have some experience on trails and be able to complete one mile on the trails in 12 minutes. If you have any concerns with this talk to Coach Katherine about it.
