Description
A program to safely add or increase intensity of speed/track workouts to a runner’s current base in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. Key in-person workouts (twice weekly) will include interval training, tempo runs, fartleks, hill repeats, and strides to build power and endurance. Science-backed education will focus on defining the physiological markers of performance, biomechanics and efficiency, strength training, and injury prevention for runners.
This program is for runners maintaining or building a foundational running base (weekly mileage 8 miles and up); runners who recently recovered from a race (of any distance) and are adding back weekly mileage to build a foundational base; and runners with higher weekly mileage, all looking for more workout variation.
Requirements
To safely add speed workouts to your training, participants should have a consistent weekly mileage (minimum 8 miles, no maximum) or be building back after a short (<1 month) recovery or break. Should be able to easy run or run-walk 3 miles.
