SUMMARY:Tom LaMonica Memorial 5K Trail Run
DESCRIPTION:Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center is a nonprofit organization founded by Tom LaMonica in 1981. Tom was a teacher and coach at Friends School of Baltimore and passionately served as our leader until his passing in September 2010. \nThis 5K trail run is a memorial to our founder and we are also celebrating our 40th year! \nTom built Genesee Valley to provide a space for groups to become better teammates and classmates through physical challenges. We continue that tradition today by offering Summer Camp and Team building programs to students and adults that focus on communication\, confidence building\, persistence\, leadership\, and creative problem solving. \nProceeds from this event support our scholarship fund for students and campers who could not otherwise afford to attend Genesee Valley. \nPOST RACE FESTIVAL: Stick around after the race and enjoy some food\, music and beverages. Be sure to bring a blanket or chair so you can sit back and relax post race. Food will be available for purchase on site. \nTo learn more and sign up click the Register button.
