Winter Ultra Marathon Training
Starts December 2nd in Bel Air and Timonium!
If you're looking for your next running challenge look no further! Joining one of our ultra marathon training groups will push you to tackle miles of trails with a safe group and prepare you to race beyond 26.2 in 2018.
At Charm City Run our goal is to safely train runners towards reaching their goals of finishing your first ultra, achieving PR and everything in between. The power of the group atmosphere makes the journey fun and enjoyable while encouragement from your coaches makes the long runs much easier.
Each group will meet twice a week for 16 weeks for runs and learn about hydration, trail running, easy runs, recovery runs, hydration, nutrition, injury prevention and much more along the way. Weekday runs will consist of hills and track workouts. Saturday morning runs will be trail runs at local parks, unless weather forces us to stay on the roads.
To safely meet your goal we do ask that you have completed at least one marathon distance and have a strong base level of running under your belt. We ask that you are able to run 10 miles at least once before the start for the program. Are you not sure if you meet these requirements? Don’t worry, ask the coach at your location on the information night.
NEW in Bel Air and Timonium! One of our goals when we started this training group was to bring new ultra runners to the trail. That remains true today. We will tour the trails of the local and regional area and introduce techniques for tackling those trails, as well tips for running nutrition, equipment, and a flexible training plan that allows runners to progress at their own pace. We've also heard the call for more advanced training and a more aggressive schedule. To answer that call, we're adding an ADVANCED training plan for those looking to take their trail running to the next level. This training season, beginner, intermediate and advanced trail runners will be provided with specific training plans.
This session will start December 2nd and end March 24th.
Target Race: HAT Run on Saturday, March 24th or any other ultra marathon during the same time frame.
