Training starts the week of May 2nd!

The BWC Women’s Training Program is presented to prepare you for the Baltimore Women’s Classic 5K. Our goal is to provide a fun, inexpensive and supportive workout, and to encourage women to embark on a lifelong program of fitness.

The training is broken into four groups, depending on your own goals and physical condition. Whether you have yet to start a walking program, or are a seasoned runner looking to improve your race time, one of our groups will be right for you. We offer groups for:

  • Beginning & Intermediate Walkers
  • Walker to Run
  • Beginning Runners
  • Intermediate Runners

Our coaches will help you determine the best group for you. You are also welcome to change groups at any time during the program based on your progress or fitness level. There is a great deal of flexibility—you can alter the workouts to meet your needs—our coaches will help you find the right workout to achieve your personal running/walking goals.

Each week’s training session will be held from 6:30 – 7:30 pm and will include speakers on a variety of fitness-related topics, a warm-up session and a great workout.  Participants also get a training program tee shirt at the end of the program if they attend 4 or more training sessions.

LOCATIONS & TIMES

Training will start the week of May 2nd and will conclude with the Baltimore Women’s Classic 5K on June 26, 2016. All training groups will be held from 6:30-7:30pm.

Monday

Patterson Park in Baltimore City (Meets at 200 S. Linwood Avenue near the Tennis Courts at 6:30pm)

Annapolis Towne Centre in Annapolis  (Meets at Charm City Run - Coach: Leslie Kriewald - lkriewald@gmail.com)

Druid Hill Park in Baltimore (Randi Woods – randi.woods@gmail.com)

Tuesday

Cedar Lane Park in Bel Air (Enter park and continue straight until you can not drive any further.  Group meets by field 10. Coach: Pam Moore – laxmom0115@yahoo.com)

Centennial Park in Ellicott City (Meets at the Ampitheater in the South Area of the park at 6:30pm. Enter park at south entrance on Route 108. Stay left and park in the lots near the Ampitheater; Coach – Erin Strovel estrovel@gmail.com)

Goucher College Track in Towson (Meet at Dorsey Hall Parking Lot at 6:30pm.  If coming from Dulaney Valley Road enter campus and take the first left (before the gate house) and then your first right.  Park in the big parking lot across from the pond; Coaches: Meghan Murphy and Joslin Martin bwcgouchercoach@charmcityrun.com)

Thursday

CCBC Catonsville Track in Catonsville (Meets at CCBC Catonville Track at 6:30pm. When you enter campus go left on the campus circle.  You will see Tennis Courts and fields on your left (the track is a little hidden down the hill).  Park in the parking lot near the tennis courts and you will see the track.; Coach: Chrissy Josey – chrissy@charmcityrun.com)
