2013 Fall Marathon Training (Bel Air)

You have more than likely made it to this page because you have either just signed up for a marathon or are seriously considering it. Congrats on such a big step in achieving a really cool goal that not many people in the world achieve. Training is the next step after signing up and committing to the race and we think you have come to the right place.
At Charm City Run our goal is to safely train people new or advanced to their goals of everything from finishing their first marathon to having a PR and everything in between. The journey is just as important as the race and we want to make it a fun and enjoyable experience which is why we think the group atmosphere is the way to train for a long run. Encouragement from coaches and friends can keep you going with a smile on your face during the hot summer long runs.
The fall marathon group will target our hometown race the Baltimore Marathon on October 12th as well as any other race during that timeframe. Some of the other races group members will be training for are Chicago, Marine Corps, New York, Richmond, and Philly just to name a few. Each group will meet twice a week for 16 weeks from June to October learning about long runs, tempo runs, track workouts, easy runs, recovery runs, hydration, injury prevention, and much more.
To safely meet your goal we do ask that you have a base level of running under your belt before joining this group. What does that mean? We ask that you are able to run/walk 8 miles at one time at the start of the program and are currently running at least 15 miles per week. This does not mean you need to be able to run the entire way but just that you are comfortable covering that distance. Are you not sure if you meet these requirements? Don’t worry ask the coach for you location. You will be surprised that most people meet these requirements and are able to join the group.
