Charles Street 12 08/10/2013 ![]() Saturday, August 10 at 7:30 a.m. The Shops at Kenilworth 800 Kenilworth Drive, Towson, Md. 21204 Please join us for the Charles Street 12, Maryland's most monumental race. The Charles Street 12-mile race will begin at The Shops at Kenilworth and take you down one of Maryland's most beautiful and scenic byways. The Charles Street 12 will treat runners to beautiful views of Maryland's most charming neighborhoods including Towson, The Orchards, Roland Park, Homeland, Guilford, Charles Village, Mt. Vernon and Downtown Baltimore. While you will be running fast on this downhill course, don't miss the views of some our best universities, museums and landmarks including Towson University, the Cathedral of Mary our Queen, Notre Dame College, Loyola College, Johns Hopkins University, the Basilica, The Baltimore Museum of Art, the Walters Art Gallery and the Washington Monument. Hold your head high, collect your medal, cheer on your friends, and enjoy the live music and good eats at the post-race party at the Power Plant Live! Entry Fee: The entry fee includes a $5 bus transportation fee from the finish area to the race start at The Shops at Kenilworth. There is no parking available for event participants at The Shops at Kenilworth. If you choose not to use the bus transportation provided, the $5 will be deducted from your entry fee. The buses will depart the Power Plant Live! beginning at 5:30 a.m., the last bus will depart promptly at 6:45 a.m. This race is capped at 5,000 participants. Packet Pick-up: Wednesday, August 7 Thursday, August 8 3-8 p.m. Friday, August 9 Race Day Course: The course will begin at the Shops at Kenilworth and continue through Towson and begin the descent into the city on Charles Street via Stevenson Road. The course will continue into the city on one of Maryland's Scenic Byways passing many of Maryland's most charming neighborhoods, universities, churches and monuments. The course will finish running around the Inner Harbor via the Promenade to the Power Plant Live! for the post-race celebration. Turn-by-Turn Course Description: Start on Kenilworth Drive in front of the shops at Kenilworth Parking: Parking will be available in the lots listed below. These lots are located in the vicinity of the finish line at the Power Plant Live! There is no parking at the event start at the Shops at Kenilworth. Harbor Park Garage - 55 Market Place Post Race Festivities: The post race celebration will be hosted by the Power Plant Live! Free beer (to event participants only), sandwich wraps, snacks and live music will be provided for all participants. Awards: Top three overall males and females, top male and female masters, and the top three males and females in the following age groups: 11 and under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over. Beneficiary: University of Maryland Children's Hospital, Children's Heart Program.
