1. Where are you from? Originally Baltimore, MD and now I live in Bel Air, MD
2. What is your occupation? Registered Nurse @ Franklin Square Hospital
3. When did you start running? About a year ago for time and competition. Before that I mostly ran on the treadmill.
4. Why did you start running? I was inspired from my husband! He has been a runner ever since I have known him (high school) and I was always pregnant. Once I was "finished" having kids, I got into running with him. Now we run together and I love it! He motivates me BIG TIME!
5. Are you training for a race? And if so, which one? Yes my husband Ryan & I are training for various 5k's (we have done the Bel Air Town Run twice and the Susan G Komen 5k)...we are also training for a 10k in Aberdeen in May, and the Baltimore half marathon next October.
6. Why do you like to run? Running brings out the best in me. I love running with my husband because it is something that we can do together and be passionate about. I love motivating eachother. With running, I can battle my inner thoughts and get past them, and achieve goals I set. It gives me great satisfaction, all while keeping me in shape! I lost 50 lbs in the past year with running, a healthy diet and exercise. It feels great to set an example for my 4 children!
7. How are you involved in the community? I am a registered nurse on the surgical inpatient floor at Franklin Square Hospital. I give back on a daily basis through my employment. I also support our local fund raisers like Susan G. Komen. My husband and I are also Beachbody coaches, and we support a customer base of over 100 people to be fit and to end the trend of obesity!
