I started running in 2007 as a way to stay in shape. Since then I've run several 5Ks, 10Ks, 10 milers and half marathons. Although I love the way running makes me feel (physically and mentally), the best part about the sport is the running community. There's nothing like the instant bonding and support you get from complete strangers who are all trying to reach the same goal, one mile at a time.
When I'm not running, I spend my time as a wife, mom and policy wonk. I'm a Maryland native with Southern roots, which means I can make a mean shrimp and grits with a sprinkle of Old Bay.
