9th Annual Fort McHenry Tunnel 5K Run/Walk to benefit Special Olympics Maryland

The 9th Annual Fort McHenry Tunnel 5K Walk/Run will be held on Sunday, October 8th, 2017 and registration is open! Register today to join 1,000 walkers and runners from around the region for this unique opportunity to run underwater in Baltimore's very own Fort McHenry Tunnel. The Tunnel Run is presented by the Maryland Transportation Authority and the Maryland Transportation Authority Police with all proceeds benefiting Special Olympics Maryland. 


$35 through September 15th, 2017 | $40 thereafter

There are no refunds of entry given or transfers of entry permitted for this event.

All participants will receive a short-sleeved Dri-Wick T-Shirt and complementary post-race refreshments!

Age Group Awards to the top three male & females overall and in the following age groups: 15 & under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.

Event Guidelines

The race course is closed to bikes, animals & skaters. Strollers are allowed but are subject to search and participants with strollers should start toward the back.

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for citizens with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
