DARCARS Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest 8K Run/1 Mile Fun Run/Festival

The 2018 DARCARS Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest, known locally as the Twilighter is made up of a pre-race festival, a 8k road race, a one mile fun run and a post race festival and party. Since its inception in 1985, this community event has become one of the most popular races of the summer in the National Capital area. The event starts with a pre-race festival in Downtown Rockville beginning at 6:30 pm in.  N. Washington St. will be closed and there will be vendors and family friendly events beginning.

Entry Fees

8K through May 31st
$25 Adults (ages 15 and up)
$15 Youth (up to age 14 as of race day)

8K through July 18th
$33 Adults (ages 15 and up)
$15 Youth (up to age 14 as of race day)

July 18th through July 21st
$45 Adults (ages 15 and up)
$20 Youth (up to age 14 as of race day)

$10 Fun Run Individual 1-Mile

Teams:

To create a team, there is a $10 fee added to the 'Team Captain' registration fee. Once the Team Captain creates the team name, other team members can register. Teams compete for trophies, but individual members still qualify for individual prizes and awards. Please note, since this event is for charity, there is a no refund policy for this event.

Course

Exciting News!

The 2018 Race is now back in downtown Rockville! This year’s course has been certified.

The Twilighter 8k is a relatively flat USATF Certified road race that starts at 8:15 p.m. and begins on N. Washington St in Rockville just east of the festival. The course goes north through a residential community in Rockville. Then it loops into Montgomery College and then almost a straight shot home on Post race food for 355 back to N. Washington.

Post Race Festival

After the race, runners are invited back to refreshments (One free beer from Gordon Beirsch) and music (included in your race registration). The midsummer night’s festival of live music by the Lloyd Dopler Effect, vendors, and refreshments for runners, spectators, and families to enjoy.


Beneficiary

Proceeds from this event benefit the Rockville Rotary Club Foundation, which supports the community programs of worthy Rockville, Montgomery County, and international nonprofit organizations. Since 1985, the Foundation has raised funds and distributed grants totaling more than $1 million. Some rrevious grant recipients include Arts for the Aging, Best Buddies Maryland, Community Ministries of Rockville, Cub Scout Pack 492, a Haitian school, international eyeglass clinics, and Indian mammogram education and screening project, Interfaith Works, Montgomery Community Media, Montgomery’s Miracles, Nourish Now Foundation, PolioPlus (program of Rotary International), Richard Montgomery High School Robotics Team, Rockville Cemetery Association, Stepping Stones Shelter, The Treatment and Learning Centers, Treeland Foundation, and the City of Rockville Recreation Fund.
