Runners Expo and Injury Clinic at MedStar Health in Hunt Valley

Join Charm City Run and MedStar Health for a Runners Expo and Injury Clinic hosted at MedStar Health at US Lacrosse HQ in Hunt Valley! We'll start the morning with a fun run, followed by breakfast and free yoga and nutrition clinics. You also have the option to register for a personalized injury screening and prevention rotation with the PTs and Sports Medicine Physicians from MedStar.

Here's the Expo Schedule:

7:30am: Fun Run led by Charm City Run (free)

8:00am-11:00am: Injury Clinic with MedStar. $15 fee per person. SPACE IS LIMITED, so please register as soon as possible (Sign up below, Upon arrival to the clinic, your $15 registration fee will be converted to a Charm City Run gift card) 

9:00am & 10:00am: Yoga for Runners led by Annie Truax (free) 

9:00am & 10:00am:  Nutrition for Runners  led by Tina Milnes (free)


Injury Clinic Rotation

To attend the Injury Clinic, please choose your time slot and register below. The deadline to register is February 1, 2017. Upon arrival to the clinic, your $15 registration fee will be converted to a Charm City Run gift card. All attendees of the clinic will also be entered to win a free pair of running shoes and free comprehensive video running analysis from Medstar. 

Attendees will rotate through each station:

  2. Muscle and Flexibility Screening with Becca Lee
  3. Video Gait Analysis with Steve Baitch
  4. Strength and Conditioning with Jay Dyer
  5. AlterG Treadmill (Anti-Gravity)
  6. Shoe Recommendations with Charm City Ru

Meet your professionals:

Stephen P. Baitch PT 

Mr. Baitch is a physical therapist and program development coordinator for MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network and has over 30 years of experience in the prevention and treatment of running injuries and specializes in orthotic devices. He is also certified in Functional Movement Screening .He has performed research with major universities and high schools in the area on injury prevention and treatment.  He has presented on the topic, “The Barefoot Running Debate “ , at the Mid AtlanticAthletic Trainers Association meeting in Spartansburg, S.C . and haspresented two abstracts on FMSon running injuries at the Combined Section meeting of the American Physical therapy Association and the American Academy of Sports Medicine in 2013.

Rebecca Lee PT, DPT

Rebecca received her BS in exercise science and physical therapy degree from The George Washington University, where she played soccer and softball at the division one level. Since then, she has presented at National Conferences on various topics including Injury Screening in Female Collegiate Cross Country Runners. She also volunteers annually in the Finish Line Medical Tent at the Baltimore Running Festival. Currently, Rebecca primarily works with athletes of all levels and patients with orthopedic injuries and/or post-surgical recovery.

Lindsay Jones, MD

Dr. Jones is a primary care sports medicine physician practicing in our Hunt Valley, Lutherville, and Ellicott City MedStar Health offices. She is the Head Team Physician for the Goucher College Gophers, Mount Saint Joseph’s High School and the Institute of Notre Dame Girls School. Running medicine is a passion of Dr. Jones’, a runner herself. She has worked at the medical tent for the Baltimore Running Festival and other local races for the last 5 years. Dr/ Jones looks forward to evaluation, diagnosing and creating a treatment plan for runners with an injury, pain or concern for performance improvement.

Rebecca Jankowiak, PT, DPT, OCS

Rebecca received her DPT from University of MD, Baltimore in 2004.  Since then, she has been working in general orthopedics and sports medicine.  Rebecca has a special interest in treating the endurance athlete and has taken many continuing education credits in the field.  She is an avid runner herself. Rebecca ran cross country and track at the collegiate level and since then has run too many races to count, from the 5K to the marathon. 

Ryan Carr, CSCS

Ryan is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) He graduated from Towson University with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science. He is an assistant strength and conditioning coach and personal trainer for JDyer Strength and Conditioning as well as the strength and conditioning coach for Johns Hopkins Wrestling, Field Hockey, Track and Field, Cross Country and Men's and Women's Tennis. Ryan specializes in Return-to-Play, youth, and kettlebell training. His background as a physical therapy tech for MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) has given him extensive knowledge in training injured athletes, and the general population, back to the sports and activities they love. 

Tina Milnes

Tina Milnes is a certified health coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, in addition to holding a B.S. in Psychology. Her mission is to help others find their happiest and healthiest selves, and to always live their lives in color!
