The Donate Life Family Fun Run has been celebrating the lives of donors and transplant recipients for ten years. A 5k run and walk, our goal is to raise awareness for organ, eye, and tissue donation and celebrate the generosity of donors and their families. Proceeds from the Donate Life Family Fun Run benefit The Living Legacy Foundation of Maryland’s community outreach and education efforts, as well as our aftercare program and workshops for donor families.

Each year, donor families and friends, transplant recipients, living donors, hospital partners, and supporters of our mission come together as a community and participate in the Donate Life Family Fun Run. In addition to raising funds, the Fun Run is a great way to celebrate life, second chances, and the generosity of organ, eye, and tissue donors.

Join us to run, walk, or simply to celebrate the incredible community of Marylanders who support life and hope through donation.

Race Day Activities

We're not just a 5K race - plan to stay after the race to enjoy all the activities the Family Fun Run has to offer!
Stay for an after-race-party featuring music, food trucks and a picnic area, sponsor booths, Why We Walk, T-Shirt Row, kids activities, and more. We are excited for the opportunity to get to know our participants and really have time to talk and meet with each other after the race. We hope you'll join us!

Photo Booth
Get your photo taken in the photo booth! Teams and individuals welcome. Photos will be shared via The LLF's Facebook page and also made available for download online.

Food Trucks and Picnic Area
Food and beverages will be available for purchase from local food trucks at the event. Participants are also welcome to bring their own food to enjoy in our picnic area.

Kids Tent
Children of all ages are welcome to take part in games and face painting at the Kids Tent.

Why We Walk
The Why We Walk tent is one of the most meaningful experiences of the event. It is a place for participants to display messages, pictures, and memories for all to see. Whatever your connection to donation, please stop by this tent and fill out a "Why I Walk" card to share. Messages and photos will not be returned, so please do not use original photographs.

T-Shirt Row
Honor the gift of life at T-Shirt Row! Many participants of the Family Fun Run take part in a tradition of decorating their shirts in memory of their loved one who was a donor or in honor of a transplant recipient or living donor. Feel free to either decorate an extra shirt to display ahead of time or stop at the tent on race day to decorate your shirt.

Merchandise Tent
Want to wear your support of donation on your sleeve, literally? Stop at the merchandise tent for t-shirts, headbands, cups, bracelets, hats, and more! All proceeds come directly back to The LLF. Prefer to shop online before the race? Visit our online store.

Donor Family Tent
Supporting our donor families is at the heart of our event. Visit our Donor Family Tent to speak with members of our Family Services team and pick up donor family resources and giveaways.

Sponsor Booths
Show our generous sponsors some love! Visit the sponsor booths for information and giveaways.

Teams

How do I start my own team?
To start your own team for the Fun Run, simply go through the standard registration process. Follow the prompts through registration and when prompted to either join an existing team or create a team, select create a team.

I registered as an individual. Can I still create or join a team?
Yup! If you registered as an individual during the registration process, you can still create or join a team later by logging into your personal account. Go to the RunSignup page and sign in (icon in the top right corner).  Once signed in, go to your Profile (icon in the top right corner again). Scroll down to "Fundraisers" and click "edit fundraiser" for the person you'd like to move to a team. Scroll down to "create or join a fundraising team" and either select an existing team from the dropdown list or follow the prompts to create a new fundraising team.

How do I donate to a team or individual?
To donate to a team or individual, visit the donation page here. You can search by name or scroll through either the individual fundraiser names or team names until you find who you're looking for. Click "select" and then either choose one of the donation amounts listed or enter your own, and then proceed with payment.

Race T-Shirts

All registered participants receive a free Family Fun Run t-shirt. Each year, more and more teams customize their t-shirts in honor of a loved one or to celebrate the gift of life. In the past we have seen many creative and touching designs and we continue to keep one side of the race t-shirt blank to allow this tradition to continue. Some teams choose to use different shirts completely and we welcome anything teams or individuals would like to do.

We invite everyone to show off your creativity on T-shirt Row! If you choose to customize your team's shirts, please be sure to request an extra t-shirt at packet pick-up and bring an extra customized shirt to display.

  • Free race day parking is available in Lots B and C at Camden Yards Sports Complex.

  • The approximate address for GPS directions is:
