Come bike and run the courses of the 2017 Baltimore Triathlon! If the course maps online just don't cut it, join us Sunday, August 27th and check out the area for yourself!
8:00 AM - Gunpowder State Park Opens
8:30 AM - Bike Course Preview Begins
9:40 AM - Run Course Preview Begins
You can bike and run, or just pick one! The park is open to the public beginning at 8 AM, and wheels are down for the ride at 8:30 AM.
The previews are FREE, but the park does charge a $5 entrance fee, so please bring cash with you.
We will meet in the lot where transition will be located (close to the beach between the Beach House and Ultimate Watersports). The lot is shown on the map here with a red square.
This event is open to folks who have registered for the Baltimore Triathlon, as well as those who have not. If you have a friend who would like to participate please feel free to bring them along!
Unlike past years, there will be no formal course preview or clinic for the swim portion of the race. You are free to enter the water under the supervision of the lifeguards, but you may or may not be permitted outside of the roped off areas depending on how busy the beach is. If you are interested in getting better acclimated with the water we recommend visiting the park during the week when crowds are much smaller.
While you can bike the course at any time, don't miss the opportunity to ride the course with our staff who can answer questions and point out areas that require special attention. We'll split into two groups and ride the sprint course, showing the entrance and exit of transition as well.
Depending on the turnout we'll all run the 5k course, or split into two groups and run each distance. We'll point out locations of aid stations and the finishing straightaway.
