The Maryland Half Marathon & 5K

Saturday, May 14, 2016 is the 8th annual Maryland Half Marathon and 3rd annual Maryland 5K - two unique races raising funds and awareness for UMGCC.

 

 

 

 

Registration is still available on-site on the day of the race.


Entry Fees

$75 Half Marathon ($90 on Race Day)
$40 5k
$20 Kids Fun Run (registration on race day)

There are no refunds of entry given or transfers of entry permitted for this event.


Race Information


Race Day Schedule

Half Marathon begins at 8 a.m.
5k begins at 8:30 a.m.
Kids Fun Run begins at 8:45 a.m.


Packet Pick-Up

Race Day starting at 6:30 AM on race day!

New this year, you can pick up your packet on race day.  Please plan accordingly and give yourself plenty of time as it may be busy.

**You may have someone else pick-up your packet (bib number, participant shirt and Goodie Bag) during any of the packet pick ups. The person getting your number will need a signed note from you or a copy of an email from you and photo ID for himself or herself. Please don't send the note authorizing someone to pick up your packet to us. The person picking up your packet should bring the note (a printout of an email is fine) with them to a packet pick-up location!


Volunteers

There are many ways to volunteer at the Maryland Half Marathon & 5K. If you are interested in lending a hand, please do not hesitate to contact Katelyn Badwak at Katelyn@charmcityrun.com. Please do not forget to include your name, phone number and the amount of people in your volunteer group.


Amenities

All Half Marathon and 5K participants will receive a race shirt and medal.


Course

Half Marathon: The 13.1 mile course runs through scenic Howard County beginning and ending at the Maple Lawn Community.

5K: All 5K participants will receive a fundraising page and are eligible to earn premiums. The 5K course will start after the Half Marathon at 8:30am.


Kids Fun Run - register on race day

The Kids Fun Run is open to all children 12 and under. The entry fee is $20 and all participants will cross the same finish line as the half-marathoners! All participants will receive a t-shirt and water.


Post-Race Festival

We hope you’ll be ready to celebrate after your run because we’ve planned the best Post Race Festival yet! In addition to the awards for category winning runners, you won’t want to miss the live performances.

The action-packed Kids Zone is fun for all ages! From balloon animals to face painting to inflatables and an arts and crafts station, this year's Kids Zone is one stop you won't want to miss.

What are your goals for running the Maryland Half Marathon?

Aiming for a particular time? Trying to achieve a personal best?

Want to benefit from the experience of a veteran runner?

Each group will be led by one or more experienced members of the Baltimore Pacemakers running group.  Just meet up with the group of your choice at the starting line and you'll have someone to guide and encourage you to achieve your goal.

The Maryland Half Marathon is a challenging race with 100 percent of net proceeds benefiting The University of Maryland Greenebaum Cancer Center. The University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center, is ranked in the nation’s top 25 cancer centers by U.S. News and World Report. The cancer center offers a multidisciplinary approach to treating all types of cancer and has an active cancer research program.
