2 Miles For 2 Hearts is a charity race in Historic Ellicott City benefiting the Elizabeth Nass Memorial Scholarship and the Rose Mayr Nursing Scholarship through the Howard Hospital Foundation.
On August 21 of 2012, our community lost two amazing young women. The train derailment in Historic Ellicott City ended the lives of Elizabeth "Liz" Nass and Rose Mayr abruptly and prematurely.
The 2 Miles For 2 Hearts memorial race raises money for their two scholarship funds while bringing families, friends and community members together to celebrate Liz's and Rose's vibrant lives. The race incorporates some of the things they loved most of all: music, exercise and food.
Online Registration is now closed. Registration is available at the Packet Pick-up session listed below as well as on race day morning!
$40 on Race Day
Beginning at 7:30am
The run begins at 9:00 am in front of the Howard County Circuit Courthouse at 3700 Court House Drive and ends at Lot F at Ellicott Mills Drive and Main Street where the post-race celebration will include food and music.
The course has the fastest last 1/2 mile of any run that we've ever run. For the safety of all runners, headphones, strollers and pets will not be permitted.
Carpooling is encouraged. Please plan to arrive early and use the various parking lots in Historic Ellicott City - the Courthouse parking is closest to the start and Lot D is closest to the finish. Please click here to see a parking map.
Parking by the Circuit Court (start line) fills early. To get to the start from Lot D, cross Main Street, and climb up Court Ave to the start line – a great warm up for the run. Please note that Lot F is the finish line and will NOT be open for parking.
FINISH LINE CELEBRATION
After the run, stick around to celebrate with food, live music and beers for those 21 and older. Check out the raffle prizes, auction and shops on Main Street!
This great event benefits the Elizabeth Nass Scholarship Fund and the Rose Mayr Nursing Scholarship. Thank you for your support.
