The 10th Annual 2016 Get Ready! Get Set! Get Fit! 5K Run-Walk and 1 Mile Walk For All Ages will be held on the campus of CCBC Essex. This location is easily accessible to I-95 and I-695 and has plenty of parking. The event, which is perfect for novice runners, starts at 8 a.m. and all roads on campus will be closed at that time. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. with health and fitness screenings and free massages starting at 7:30 a.m. The 5K race, which is professionally managed by Charm City Run, attracts participants of all ages who run and walk the course. Medals are given for the fastest three male and female 5K finishers overall, as well as the top three male and female runners in all age categories. The 1-Mile Fun Walk is perfect for our younger and older participants. New for 2016: a 1 Mile Kids Fun Run has been added for those youngsters who want to run, but can't do the 5K distance. Door prizes, including a $500 Fitness Pays Grand Prize sponsored by Van Dyke and Bacon Shoes, will be awarded (must be present to win). Participants receive a complimentary long-sleeved T-shirt (guaranteed up to the first 1,200 registered, sizes not guaranteed), water on the course and post-race refreshments. Trophies will be awarded for largest team, most money raised by an individual and most money raised by a team.
Seniors (60 years and older): $15
Juniors (6 to 17 years): $15
Adults (18 to 59 years): $35 on race day

RACE DAY SCHEDULE
- Registration Opens: 6:30 a.m.
- Sponsor and Exhibitor Set-up: 6:30 to 7 a.m.
- Health and Fitness Screenings, Massages: 7:30 a.m.
- Roads close to the public: 8 a.m.
- Warm-up Exercise Routine: 8:15 to 8:25 a.m.
- 5K Race Start: 8:30 a.m.
- One Mile Walk Start: 8:45 a.m.
- Kids Fun Run Start: 9:15 a.m.
- Awards Ceremony: 9:45 a.m. (approximate)
- Event Ends: 11 a.m.
The event will be held rain or shine. In the event of cancellation due to extreme weather, refunds will not be issued. There are no refunds if participants are unable to attend after registering.
Race Day - Onsite starting at 6:30AM
All pre-registered runners will receive a long-sleeved T-shirt (sizes and availability not guaranteed for day-of-race registration), water on course, entry in door prize drawings (must be present to win) and post-race refreshments. To celebrate "National Falls Prevention Day," "Active Aging Week" and BCDA's "Brain Matters" initiative, free fall prevention, health and fitness screenings will be offered.

Race course roads will close at 8 a.m. The 5K start will be in front of the Wellness and Athletics Center. The one-mile start will be near Parking Lot 2. The route will be contained within the campus of CCBC Essex.
The race course is closed to animals, bikes, skaters and baby joggers or strollers. Water will be provided on course and at the finish line.
AWARDS & DOOR PRIZES
5K awards provided for the top three men and women overall, and top three men and women finishers in the following age groups: 15 and under, 16 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80 and over. Trophies will also be given to the largest team, most funds raised by a team and most funds raised by an individual.
Random door prizes awarded including the Fitness Pays $500 Grand Prize! sponsored by Van Dyke and Bacon Shoes. Must be present to win.
Build morale and form a team from your senior center, company, social club, family or friends! Being part of a team is fun! You'll build camaraderie and community while raising much-needed funds for senior exercise classes and fitness centers in Baltimore County. Team members receive all the benefits of individual race participants plus early packet pick-up. We encourage you to wear T-shirts displaying your team, center, company name or logo on race day.

CCBC Essex is located off Baltimore Beltway (695) Exit 34 (Rosedale). At Exit 34, turn onto Maryland Route 7 (Philadelphia Road) heading towards White Marsh. Proceed one-quarter mile and turn left onto Rossville Boulevard. The campus is approximately one mile on the right adjacent to the Franklin Square Hospital Center. Turn onto College Drive North. Proceed and make right turn onto Division Lane.
5K runners and walkers park in Lot 1. One-mile walkers park in Lot 2.

Please no baby joggers, strollers, roller blades, skates, bikes, dogs, pets or headphones allowed on the race course. Your race number must be worn on your front and must be visible. DO NOT exchange or give your number to another participant.
